Washington Garden Redesign: Educators’ Charrette
Monday, May 8, 2017, 4:30-6:30 pm
We need your input!
Old North Church & Historic Site is redesigning its underutilized Washington Garden to create an outdoor classroom and art space and to intrepret the famous Henry Wadsworth Longfellow poem “Paul Revere’s Ride.” Preliminary designs have been created, but much work still needs to be done before final plans are executed. This intensive charrette for educators will examine the following questions:
How do we implement/display the poem to the public?
What do you as educators look for in an outdoor classroom?
How can we best develop lesson plans for a new English Language Arts on-site school program?
What type of garden/outdoor space would be most appealing to kids of all ages?
Help us envision the full potential for the Washington Garden and join educators from all backgrounds for an interesting working session!
Please feel free to bring friends and colleagues in the education field, but everyone does need to be registered. Refreshments provided.
