Do I need a reservation for my school group to visit the church?
Primary, secondary, and college school groups are always welcome to visit Old North Church any day at any time without reservations. We do appreciate a donation of $1 per person for student groups visiting the church only. You do NOT need to make a reservation if your group is simply visiting the church.
However, Old North currently offers four different ways to engage your students beyond the typical church visit! Please click on the options below to read more about our on-site school programs.
A History Mystery: Who Hung the Lanterns at the Old North Church? (grades 3-5)
Grades 5 and up:
Behind-the-Scenes Tours for School Groups (grades 5 and up)
Grades 9 and up:
Sacred Seats: Social Implications of Colonial Church Seating (grades 9-12)
Aesthetic Appeal: Anglican Art & Architecture (grades 9 – college)
Please note: If you are interested in any of the above programs or if you’d like to create a tailored experience for your class, please contact our Director of Education at 617-858-8231 ext. 106.
Before Your Visit
In advance of your visit to Old North, the following classroom lessons can be used to help prepare your students for what they will see and learn. We strongly encourage you to complete at least one of these lessons before your visit. Check out our downloadable classroom lessons (http://oldnorth.com/classroom-lessons/) here.
