Two sparks of light in the Old North Church steeple ignited the American Revolution and the birth of America. The lanterns signaled the beginning of a struggle for the ideals that shaped our nation-the enduring democratic principles that we still cherish. The Old North remains a symbol of patriotic courage and a national inspiration.
