Holy Week & Easter services are open to all.
We welcome hundreds of worshippers to our Holy Week and Easter services, each deep with meaning as we commemorate the deepest mysteries of the Christian faith in Jesus’ death and resurrection.
Our services are rich in music, scripture readings, and prayer. Some, like Maundy Thursday and Good Friday are intimate and reflective, while Easter Day is full and glorious. We draw on the rich liturgical and musical resources of the Anglican tradition to shape worship services that are moving and meaningful. Easter Day services are enhanced by talented guest musicians in addition to the Old North Chamber Choir. Visitors are most welcome. Pre-reservations are appreciated to help us plan properly.

Good Friday, April 3
The Good Friday liturgy is quiet and somber as we reflect together on Christ’s passion and God’s profound love for humanity. It includes scripture readings, prayers, and Holy Communion from the Reserved Sacrament. Members of the Congregation take parts in reading the Passion Gospel. Music includes congregational hymns and soloists.
- Service: 12 noon.
Easter Sunday, April 5
Easter is the Feast of the Resurrection and the most significant observance in the Christian year as we celebrate God’s power of life over death. Easter at Old North is truly magnificent. We offer two Easter morning celebrations at 9:00 and 11:00 am. Each service is identical, with glorious music, beautiful flowers, uplifting readings, and Holy Communion. For this special day we use cherished Communion silver gifted to the church by King George II in 1733. In addition to our talented choir, our worship is enhanced by guest brass musicians. A children’s Easter egg hunt follows the 11:00 am service.
Pre-reservations are strongly recommended as the church is often filled to capacity, including the galleries.
- Easter Day Services: 9 am and 11 am.
- Children’s Easter Egg Hunt: 12:15 pm.
